Hello all triathletes…

On the 28th January we are lucky enough to have a guest speaker come down from Perth to spend a couple of hours going over a few things on how to train for the half ironman. Perfect timing too with the Busselton 70.3 only FIVE months away!!!

If you are interested we will be meeting at the South West Italian Club on White Street, Bunbury at 11 until 1pm.

For catering purposes i do need a rough idea on who would be keen to come along…this is FREE to all club members and friends of club members! Be sure to take full advantage of this opportunity…So pop down and learn a few tips from Rob Seriano.

Welcome to our new season.
A general update for the 2011-2012 Bunbury Triathlon Club from our club president Donna Gellard.Hope you all have had a great winter of training or resting and recovering from a busy season. It’s time to get the tri gear and get ready for the season.See our 2011/2012 calendar. Please look carefully as we have made some changes which has resulted in an EARLIER start to the season. The committee has been busy working on your season with several new committee members this year.

Tara Lambert new secretary has been busy learning all her new contacts and emails. You can contact her on her club email with any news or questions Tara Lambert

Wendy Lander new treasurer has jumped into the role with great organization and enthusiasm. Contact Wendy

Geoff Wright new Vice President has been on the committee for a few years and his knowledge keeps us on track.

Rachelle Kostanski is new to triathlons and also the committee and has taken on the MEDIA and WEB PAGE side of things. The web page is giving her a few challenges once we have it updated (which we are in the process off) we will be seeing more updates and events J Rachelle is also very keen to update the photo page, so if you have some happy shots you would like on the web site please forward them to her. Also any updates on our club members would be great to read so please also forward on to Rachelle Kostanski . There are also plans of a facebook page with Tara’s help. I am certainly leaving that to them as I am totally useless at that!!! So as they say… watch this space…!

Dudley Donovan has taken on the timing system which he tells me he is looking forward to setting up and getting the results out.

James Blackburn has once again taken on the mountain of paper work that goes with planning each race. THANKS James keep up the GREAT work.

Robert Chester has taken on the trailers and is responsible for getting all the equipment to each event.

Debra Carver has also once again taken on the job of volunteer co-coordinator, to allow the committee to plan the event prior to the chaos of race morning. As we did last year we are asking for volunteers to contact Debra either by phone or email so she can assign them jobs prior to the morning allowing for an easier start to the morning. We also have a reward system which all nominated helpers for the morning can earn points. This system was introduced last year to show the clubs appreciation to our helpers and give some appreciation back to them. Your points add up and at the end of the season they go towards a voucher from one of our sponsors, once again giving back to people that support our club. Debra is also our breakfast chief THANKS DEBRA.   Email or mobile 0417 257 674

In general, our club membership is growing every year. Our club is strong at all levels our juniors are achieving great things and our seniors making us proud at lots of different events. We have a great hard working committee. The committee is very busy with work, family commitments and training. As a club we love to hear about personal achievements, as a committee we find it too hard to keep up with all our members’ competitions and travels. We would love to hear about your adventures please put a few lines together and let us know so we can share them with our members. Please include photos. DON’T BE SHY. We want to hear your news. Be it your tales on preparation for your first ironman or what it was like doing your first ever triathlon. Please forward your news to either myself or Rachelle.

LOOKING FORWARD TO A GREAT SEASON
