The Bunbury Triathlon Club is a friendly group of people that love to exercise and get the most out of life. The club was founded in 1986 when a group of locals decided to have a go at a new sport they had seen on television. The club grew through the 1990’s and continues to prosper.
Club members have a wide range of abilities and commitment to the sport. Some are aiming for national titles, while others are aiming to enjoy breakfast and a cold drink after a short race.
Each year, the club organizes eight races at various
locations around Bunbury and surrounding districts as
well as running A TWA State Series race, Womens Only
Triathlon and a Schools Triathlon..
The triathlon season runs from November through April.
Race dates are published on the Calendar page.
We encourage people to become members of TWA and our
club. Membership covers them for insurance purposes
whilst out training, as well as reduced entry to all
TWA races, plus being able to compete in our club series
as well for no extra cost. If people just want to do
a few races they can do so a nominal entry fee of $20
per race (Seniors) which allows newcomers to get a taste
for the sport without joining the club straight away.
The race distances vary (see calendar), but in most instances there is a short event that is suitable for any person with a reasonable level of fitness.
In 2006, the first Bunbury Women's Triathlon was held.
Every year since we've held another one, with each year
bringing increased participation.
In some situations, the club is prepared to offer financial
support to members who have achieved state or national
representation honours. See the attached policy.
Recently the club has altered its constitution. To
